...HAZARDOUS TRAVEL CONDITIONS EARLY THIS MORNING...
A period of freezing rain, mixed with some snow or sleet will
continue across the area early this morning.
Temperatures in many locations have gone above freezing early this
morning, however given the recent cold snap, ground and surface
temperatures are very cold causing any falling rain to freeze on
contact to most surfaces early this morning.
This is resulting in very slick and hazardous driving conditions.
Elevated and untreated roads will be particularly hazardous.
Sidewalks and parking lots will also be very slick.
Motorists should be prepared for ice covered roads and variable
driving conditions early this morning. Leave plenty of room
between you and the vehicle in front of you. Allow plenty of extra
time to reach your destination.
Temperatures will continue to warm and this will allow for warming
surfaces and plain rain for most areas between 7 AM and 10 AM.
